But first an acrylic overlay is not a nail extension though both are false and offer a good way to add strength and length to your natural nails. It is applied like a polish but does need to be cured. It also has a much lighter fragrance which is great for people that like the look of acrylics.
Overlays can be finished with varnishgel polish or the use of coloured acrylic. Its also harder and less flexible. Because it is like a gel however it does add strength and durability.
On an average a basic clear set of acrylic nails will cost you anywhere between 30 to 50. Shellac is a blend of gel and nail polish. As long as you keep it simple that is.
